The problem we’re built for

Most kids leave organized sports before they finish middle school, and when you ask them why, the answers rarely change: it stopped being fun, and they didn’t get to play. Playing time is one of the few things every kid, and every parent, notices and remembers.

The people in the best position to fix that are also the most overloaded: volunteer coaches. They’re parents who got talked into it, assistants keeping a bench fair while the head coach runs the play, rec-league organizers with a roster of twelve and a rulebook they read once. Tracking who’s played, who’s sat twice, and who hasn’t touched the field since the first quarter — in your head, mid-game, while actually coaching — is nearly impossible. So it slips. And the kid at the end of the bench goes home disappointed again.

What LineUp Max does

LineUp Max does the counting for you. You build your lineup, and the app tracks playing time as you go, surfaces who’s played least, warns before a player sits two shifts in a row, and prints a completed game card you can hand to any parent. Plan the game the night before at the kitchen table, then just follow the sheet on game day. That’s the whole idea: move the hard part off the sideline and into a calm minute beforehand.

It’s one idea across four sports, each tuned to how that sport actually works:

• Huddleboard— youth football: snap counts by quarter across offense, defense, and special teams.
• Pitchboard— youth soccer: substitution windows and balanced minutes.
• Dugoutboard— baseball & softball: continuous batting order and inning-by-inning fielding.
• Rallyboard— volleyball: serving order, the libero, and per-set substitution limits.

What we believe

• Fair time isn’t a nice-to-have.A kid who barely plays doesn’t improve and doesn’t come back. Development and fun both depend on actually being in the game.
• The tool should be free.The people doing this work are volunteers. The core planners are free, with no account required, and they’ll stay that way.
• Your data is yours.Rosters live in your browser by default. We use no advertising or analytics cookies and no third-party trackers, and we don’t sell data.
• Respect the coach’s time. Coaching is already a second job. The app should take minutes, not add homework.

How we keep it free

The core apps are free and stay free. An optional Pro plan — $9.99 a month or $99 a year — adds conveniences like cloud sync and season history for coaches who want them, and one subscription covers all four sports. That’s the entire business model: a small, honest subscription for the coaches who want more. No ads. No selling data. No per-player fees.

Who’s behind it

LineUp Max is an independent project, operated in Wyoming, USA, built and run by a small team that cares about youth sports being fair.
